We influence DD service and community support systems and legislation by communicating with a common, consistent voice – creating better opportunities for Oregonians with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The History of Oregon’s Disability Movement < Past  Present = Future Past Like many people with intellectual and developmental disabilities around the United States, Oregonians with DD often lived separately from their family and friends. Many Oregonians with DD lived in state run institutions, primarily the Fairview Training Center in Salem, Oregon.
